My brother-in-law, who’s lived in Denmark, then in Germany for over 30 years, wanted to show his partner where he and his sister had been brought up. Initially I was concerned that a cabin would be too cramped and uncomfortable. How wrong I was! This has been an ideal base for our exploits.
We fully concur with the many superlatives within these pages regarding our hosts, Jacqui and Matthew: the support and breakfasts have been of the highest quality. Nigel’s memory along with his great affection for the place, have amazed us, as has his sense of direction.
We have been treated to captivating lanes, with villages such as Hunsworth and Glandford with great food at the Hunny Bell in the former and breathtaking church (and the shell museum) at the latter.
We’ve swum together at Cromer, and thoroughly enjoyed the house and gardens at Felbrigg. Holt hasn’t disappointed and neither have the views, such as those at Salthouse - giving the lie to those who say Norfolk is ‘flat’. Blakeney was wonderful too.
